Recognition Circle
A six-evening studio class in Nam-gu for people who want to name classical chart patterns on paper before they talk about what a pattern might mean.

The Recognition Circle is the studio’s main lesson. It exists because most arguments about chart patterns start too late — after someone has already announced the name. We reverse that order. The lines go down first. The name is allowed only when a second person at the table can put a finger on the same points.
Each Tuesday begins with a silent sketch. Charts are already at the places: usually a KOSPI daily, a heavy Korean single name, USD/KRW, and one overseas index, printed so the wicks are large enough to argue about. You trace what you think the structure is. Then the room speaks, one seat at a time, and Han will stop you if the word arrives before the line.
By evening six the sketchbook is the record. Some pages will still be wrong. That is useful. The circle is finished when you can tell a tidy drawing from a pattern that meets the rules we used all month, and when you can say which rule failed.
The next circle in this season runs on Tuesdays from 6 October through 10 November 2026. Dates are a schedule, not a reason to rush. If those Tuesdays do not fit, write anyway and we will say when the following circle starts.
Who it is for
People who already look at daily charts — shift workers, independent traders, clerks, and students of markets — and who keep misnaming flags, wedges, and head-and-shoulders formations.
What you leave with
A personal sketchbook of patterns you can point to, with necklines, poles, and invalidation lines drawn so the person across the table can see the same shape.

How the time runs
- Evening one: ordinary and inverse head and shoulders, and how a neckline is actually drawn through the reaction points.
- Evening two: double tops and double bottoms, including the pairs that are only close enough.
- Evening three: symmetrical, ascending, and descending triangles, and which touches count.
- Evening four: flags and pennants, and the pause that has lasted too long to keep the name.
- Evening five: rising and falling wedges, and channels that are not wedges.
- Evening six: patterns that failed, then a quiet pass through each sketchbook.
Before you come
Nothing is required before evening one. If you have a daily chart you have been staring at, send it before 17:00 that day and we will print it. Pencils and tracing paper are on the table.
Limits
Twelve seats. The room works in English. You need the full evening; arrival after the silent sketch misses the work of that night. The circle meets in person in Ulsan. We do not place orders, and we do not hand out a list of trades.
